The color guard team is, by far, the most noticed and publicized team under CHS NJROTC. They perform for a variety of municipal and school-board ceremonies, and are used to present the national ensign during the pledge and/or national anthem at school functions such as football games or other functions. Each color guard detail consists of four people: a left and right rifleman, positioned at the extreme flanks of the detail, a national ensign bearer, who is always positioned to the starboard side of the state or organizational ensign bearer.
